You're saying you couldn't tell the difference between 60fps and 90fps in a 60fps video. That's some big brain right there.
The video is only 60fps my man...and on top of that you can't capture VRR video in a way that allows a visual comparison.
But having played with VRR and high fps on PC for YEARS at this point, and trying it out on PS5 yesterday, yes it is a big difference to go from 60 to 90-100.
Oh... so a game without Lumen or Nanite is the best representation of UE5. Amazing.
Figure what out? The BVH structure is and will be heavy on the CPU. You can see CPUs being pushed harder in any game that uses good RT.
Graphics scale. Game design does not.
i.e. A game like Horizon 2 is designed for PS4's CPU and then the graphics are scaled up on PS5. You cannot design a game around the PS5's CPU and easily scale it on PS4. You would have to create a new version essentially.
Let's imagine you can make 1000 cars. But you only have 400 tires. So you would like to make 1000 cars, but you only have enough parts to make 100 complete cars. Now think of the tires as computer chips.
It means what Stadia talked about when they announced their service during GDC.
1440p is NEVER going to happen. If Sony cared, then they could have enabled it on PS4 Pro 6 years ago.
That was covered in the other video.
@VenomUK
Wow...I didn't know it was possible to be so ignorant and speak so definitively.
"The PS5 Fidelity mode of GTA V does have raytracing - you are incorrect to say it’s a placebo."
Didn't say that. Please read better. I specifically said "RT is only used for shadows" which is A FACT.
"Can you imagine that you are so angry at Rockstar and desperate to prove that the GTA console pa...
@VenomUK
That's called a placebo, and here's why. GTA5's RT mode does not have RT reflections. If you're talking about the Fidelity 30fps mode, then it's possible they're just using higher resolution SSR or cubemaps. RT is only used for shadows, bud. Which you would know if you read the article/watched the video that you just commented on.
P.S. In no game do RT reflections make a game go from cartoony to realistic. They're jus...
Agree, but with a caveat. If GT aimed for 30fps, then I would not be surprised if it looked better than DC.
Not even RT shadows. They implemented RT contact shadows, which is more or less fancy AO.
I hope they do also, but I do wonder how much effort devs would put in knowing that not every user will be able to experience it.
42% more is close?
How the hell did this get approved? It's basically all fake, to the point that they are using screenshots from the 2018 game and pretending it is from Ragnarok. Plus this is from Jan 29th. No reason N4G should be giving this fake ass site clicks and money.
Also "first look" and "opinion piece" are not a thing.
@Flawlessmic
I'm curious what your expectations going in were. As someone who doesn't care about GT or Forza, when they announced it as GT Sport even I knew that it was basically a spinoff, which became abundantly clear leading up to launch. Things like no career and all the other stuff that was absent.
That last sentence....
You really think that if around the Switch's launch they started putting games on PC, then that wouldn't lose them sales of the hardware? Now right about now I'm sure you're ready to say that the PC software sales would outpace money lost on hardware. And you're probably right, but that is ignoring the fact that 30% of every 3rd party game on Switch goes to Nintendo. So for every system not sold, it's not simply MSRP-Production...
@1nsomniac
No, that's surround sound you're thinking of.
